CPI Spray Foam Insulation

Polyurethane spray foam, also known as spray foam insulation, is a highly popular product renowned for its exceptional insulation capabilities. This insulating material, with its unmatched airtightness, is widely utilized in various applications.

Upon application, polyurethane spray foam expands, effectively enveloping and sealing all gaps and voids. This meticulous coverage ensures that warm air remains trapped within the property, while simultaneously preventing the infiltration of cold air into the building.

Open Cell and Closed Cell

Foam insulation can be classified into two distinct categories: open cell insulation and closed cell insulation. The formation of these types occurs through the combination of two compounds, polyol resin and isocyanate, which undergo an exothermic reaction. As the foam is sprayed from the gun's tip, this reaction takes place, resulting in the creation of either open cell foam or closed cell foam. The specific type of foam formed is determined by the type of polyol resin utilized in the process.

Attic Insulation Foam

We offer our customers in the attic insulation service our certified E 500 open cell spray foam. This particular type of open cell foam insulation exhibits remarkable expansion, increasing its size by over 200 times, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all gaps, nooks, and crannies.

Once the spray foam expands, it forms a complete and airtight seal, effectively minimizing heat loss and inhibiting the growth of dampness and mold. A well-insulated attic can result in significant savings, with potential reductions of up to 35% in heating costs for your property.

Personalized Solutions

At FC Insulation, we understand that every customer's needs are unique. That's why we provide personalized insulation solutions that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each property. Our team of experts will work with you to recommend the best insulation solutions for your property, ensuring that you receive the most effective and efficient insulation services available.

Advantages of Spray Foam Insulation

Excellent Insulation: Spray foam insulation provides superior thermal insulation, effectively reducing heat transfer and energy loss in buildings. It creates a continuous and seamless barrier that minimizes air leakage and drafts, resulting in increased energy efficiency and reduced utility bills.

Air Sealing: Spray foam insulation expands and fills gaps, cracks, and cavities, creating an airtight seal. This significantly reduces air infiltration, preventing the entry of outside pollutants, allergens, and moisture into the building. It helps maintain indoor air quality and creates a more comfortable and healthier living environment.

Versatile Application: Spray foam insulation can be applied to various surfaces and areas, including walls, attics, roofs, crawlspaces, and floors. It adheres to different materials such as wood, concrete, metal, and more, making it suitable for a wide range of residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

Moisture and Mold Resistance: Closed-cell spray foam insulation acts as a moisture barrier, preventing the accumulation of water vapor and reducing the risk of condensation. This helps inhibit mold and mildew growth, protecting the structure and promoting better indoor air quality.

Longevity and Durability: Properly installed spray foam insulation can last for the lifetime of the building. It does not sag, settle, or deteriorate over time, maintaining its effectiveness and thermal performance for years to come.

Noise Reduction: Spray foam insulation has excellent soundproofing properties, reducing the transmission of airborne noises between rooms and from the outside. It helps create a quieter and more peaceful indoor environment.

Increased Structural Strength: Closed-cell spray foam insulation adds rigidity and structural integrity to walls, roofs, and other surfaces, reinforcing the building's overall strength. It can enhance resistance to wind uplift and impact damage.

Environmental Benefits: Spray foam insulation is considered environmentally friendly as it helps reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and dependence on fossil fuels for heating and cooling. It can contribute to achieving sustainable building practices and certifications.

Customisable and Tailored Solutions: Spray foam insulation can be customized and tailored to specific project requirements, ensuring optimal performance and meeting unique building needs.

Potential Cost Savings: While the upfront cost of spray foam insulation may be higher compared to other insulation options, its superior insulation properties and energy efficiency can lead to significant long-term cost savings through reduced energy bills and potential incentives or rebates from energy efficiency programs.

It's important to note that the advantages may vary depending on the specific type of spray foam insulation (open-cell or closed-cell) and the quality of installation. Consulting with us is recommended to assess the suitability and benefits of spray foam insulation for your specific project.

Shed Insulation

Our Shed insulation solution is specifically engineered to eradicate condensation and dampness issues. In commercial sheds, closed cell foam is commonly employed to mitigate the accumulation of condensation, owing to its excellent thermal properties.

Closed cell spray foam is well-suited for a variety of sheds, including industrial, agricultural, and commercial structures. Its exceptional attributes make it suitable for application on concrete or metal frameworks, providing versatile insulation options.

It's important to note that closed cell foam is impermeable, lacking breathability. This rigid and dense material plays a crucial role in fortifying the structural integrity of the building, while also delivering superior insulation properties.

Breathable Vent Card

Every residential building generates water vapor as a byproduct of activities such as showering, cooking, and even everyday breathing and exercise. Failure to allow this vapor to escape the property can lead to the formation of dampness and mold, which pose potential health hazards.

In line with building regulations in Ireland, it is mandated to maintain a 50mm air gap or void between the insulation material and the roofing deck. To meet this requirement, FC Insulation offers our clients the breathable vent card system. This rigid and permeable vent card is securely attached to the rafters, ensuring an exact 50mm gap from the felt layer. This installation is carried out prior to the application of spray foam.

The vent card system enables water vapor to effectively pass through the foam, effectively preventing the occurrence of dampness and mold. By allowing proper ventilation, this system safeguards the overall health and well-being of the property and its occupants.
